Sustainable and transparent battery materials value chains for a circular battery economy
In the SUSTRAB project, strategies for increasing transparency and resource efficiency within the production chain of cell materials and battery cells are systematically investigated and tested experimentally and methodically. The project contributes significantly to the holistic understanding of the battery life cycle, starting with raw material extraction, through material synthesis and battery cell production, to material recycling by using secondary raw materials (for synthesis) in the sense of the circular economy. In order to fully investigate the complex interdependencies along global supply chains, the project relies on a cooperation of research and industry partners from Germany and Australia.
